This page is dedicated to all Mothers and especially my own Mother. She knows just how much she means to me.
I love you Mom!

My youngest sister wrote this poem for her.

She Is

She is home-made cookies on the Christmas tree.

She is flying kites in a cool spring breeze.

She is warm biscuits and chocolate cream pie.

She is there when I am hurt and trying not to cry.

She is the smell of coffee and fresh baked bread.

She is a jokester and prankster and often a kid.

She is all of my memories both happy and sad.

She is one of God's Angels, no doubt about that.

A Mother is.....

A mother is many things: She is the giver of life and love, the maker of house and home. She is the chief cook and bottle washer, babysitter of last resort, provider, educator, doctor, disciplinarian, spiritual guide, counselor, health inspector, clothing consultant and taxi driver.

When I was a teenager my mom and I didn't always see eye to eye and the same thing happened when my daughter became a teenager.
Things changed for the better though, and I became good friends with my mother as my daughter has with me.
We now all share a special relationship that I am sure is shared by many.
I am going to share with you some other thoughts on 'Mothers'.

Motherhood is the biggest on-the-job training program in existence today.

Erma Bombeck

The commonest fallacy among women is that simply having children makes one a mother--which is as absurd as believing that having a piano makes one a musician.
Sydney J. Harris

Every mother is like Moses. She does not enter the promised land. She prepares a world she will not see.
Pope Paul VI

It's the mother who can cure her child's tears.
African Proverb

Her children arise up, and call her blessed.
Proverbs 31:28

A mother understands what her child 'doesn't' say.
Yiddish Proverb

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.

Abraham Lincoln

God could not be everywhere, so he made mothers.

Jewish Proverb

Of all the haunting moments of motherhood, few rank with hearing your own words come out of your daughter's mouth.

Victoria Secunda

My mama raised me right.

Elvis Presley

It used to get to me when Mama, who is my biggest critic, was in the audience. But now that I'm a mama myself, I realize that she loves me regardless of how I do.

Reba McEntire

I know how to do anything----I'm a mom.

Roseanne Barr

In their childhood these little girls really didn't know what it was like to be a 'Mother'. They played at being moms with their little cabbage patch dolls. Well now all four know what being a mom is all about.
Laura, Belinda, Rebekah, Christy

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day he asked God: They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless? Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.

But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy. Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy.

And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk? Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.

And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you? Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.

I've heard that on earth there are bad men, who will protect me? Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.

But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore. Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly:

Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name. Your angel's name is of no importance. You will simply call her Mommy.
